Nova module · AI waiter

For the questions between service rounds.

Guests open the AI waiter at their table via QR code: ask about the menu, play a children’s quiz or call the team. You set its tone and keep track of requests and calls in the monitor.

Working with the module

Seven situations, one table.

At the table

The conversation starts at the table.

Guests scan the table QR code and open the chat in their phone browser. The table and greeting are already there. They can change the language directly in the chat. No separate guest app is needed.

Recommendation

Bring your menu into the conversation.

A short question prompts a suggestion based on your maintained menu. Here Sole actually recommends the Caponata. Switch to the restaurant view to see the matching item. You choose whether the chat receives an excerpt or the full visible menu as context.

LidoOS Copilot

AI active in this module

Your menu, turned into a conversation.

The Copilot replies in the guest’s language using your persona, the supplied restaurant and menu information and the conversation history.

What the Copilot contributes

  • Writes replies in the guest’s language using the approved menu excerpt or full visible menu.
  • Recognises allergen and service requests through stored keywords and starts the relevant workflow.
  • Structures recognised item requests; POS handoff requires every item to be recognised.

What it does not check

  • Actual ingredients, cross-contact or individual tolerability.
  • Whether a reply is error-free or menu details are still up to date.
  • Whether a team member has actually reached the table.

The dish on your menu

The Caponata really is on Via Palermo’s menu. Maintained information provides the context for the reply.

The chat checks neither actual ingredients nor whether your team is present.

Time together

One more round before the food arrives?

Enable games if they suit your restaurant. Mia and Luca start a children’s quiz here: enter names, answer questions and collect points. The gallery follows the whole game through to the final scores. There are no stakes.

Order request

Keep the whole request in view.

A guest asks for two Caponata and a lemon lemonade. The chat recognises the Caponata; the unclear remainder also appears in your monitor. In the review mode shown, the request waits for your team. Partially recognised requests are not passed to the till.

Personal follow-up

Allergies need your team’s attention.

When the chat detects an allergen keyword, it directs the guest to personal advice and records a service call. Here it appears in the monitor. Mark it as seen or done; the guest sees the status. This does not promise that someone is already at the table.

Overview

The same table. A different perspective.

The monitor shows active table conversations, pending requests and the call inbox. The guest view shows the updated call status for the same table. Requests stay linked to their handling status, without implying that the team has physically arrived.

AI waiter and till

From a request to an approved handoff.

In the review mode shown, requests go through your monitor. The technical bridge is switched off by default.

  • Only fully recognised items can be passed on after approval.
  • An active connection and matching table and item mappings are required.
  • The guest chat does not process payments.

What you need to get started

For businesses collecting table questions and requests digitally while involving the team.

Maintain content, configure an AI service and notifications. POS handover requires an active connection, valid table and fully identified items. Availability and usage costs depend on configuration.

The limits

A digital host. Personal service stays personal.

Before the first interaction, the AI waiter clearly tells guests they are speaking with artificial intelligence. This notice also appears for custom personas and stays visible in the chat. Replies appear directly in the guest chat and may contain errors. Discuss allergies with the team. Conversations, game progress, requests and calls are stored. A call status records handling, not guaranteed arrival.

Packages

Activation according to your plan.

The current service description in the shop determines whether your plan includes the AI waiter.

How should your digital host greet guests?

Describe your restaurant and the tasks you want the table chat to handle.

Short answers

Good to know

Does AI order independently and give safe allergen advice?

No. It collects requests and can forward clearly identified items under the stated conditions. Unclear requests and allergen questions go to staff. Advice, order processing and payment remain the business's responsibility.

Which language does the AI waiter use with the guest?

The guest’s: from the QR link, otherwise from the phone, otherwise your restaurant language. Guests can switch in the chat. Your restaurant language itself does not change.

Does the guest order straight to the till?

Only if you want that. The default is review mode: a request lands in the monitor, your team approves it, only then does it go to the till. Partially recognised requests always stay with the team.

What happens with an allergy question?

The chat gives no advice but calls your team. The call has a status you handle in the monitor; the guest sees that the call is with the team, not that someone has already arrived.

All conversations, requests and people shown are fictional examples from Via Palermo.

Build the right setup for your business.

Your plan, enabled modules and limits define the scope. The shop shows current terms. We plan connections to POS, devices and external services with you.
