Many ways to order. One POS behind them.

At the table, by phone or through Nova: orders meet in the same POS. Kitchen, service and till work with the same checks. The features stay the same — in the cloud and on the box at your venue.

Explore the workflows

Six tasks, five channels.

From the waiter’s phone to the kitchen.

The waiter opens the table on a phone, records items and requests, then sends them to the kitchen. The check is also visible at the till. Payment is taken there in cash or by card terminal. Once confirmed, the paid check enters the Z closing for its payment period.

Ordered by phone. Ready for pickup.

Create the phone order as a takeaway check at the till. Add contact details and pickup time, send it to the kitchen and follow progress on the pickup board or display. Take payment at handover. The paid check appears as takeaway in the daily closing.

Order with the AI waiter and pay straight away.

The guest orders with Nova’s AI waiter and opens the offered guest payment. The order reaches the POS; with “after payment” selected, the kitchen waits for full payment confirmation. The kitchen ticket is then released. The paid check enters the Z closing; a partial payment is not enough.

Order with the AI waiter. Pay later.

Nova sends the AI waiter order to the POS as an open table check. With automatic kitchen dispatch enabled, the kitchen receives it immediately; the till shows the outstanding balance. Payment follows at the till or through an enabled guest payment method. Only then does the check enter the Z closing.

Send a request through the guest QR.

The guest opens the table menu by QR and submits a selection. Items currently go straight onto the table check; an additional waiter approval is missing. Staff see the items and send them to the kitchen. The guest can use enabled online payment methods. The paid check enters the Z closing.

All paid checks in the daily closing.

The Z closing includes paid checks for the closing period, with payment methods, taxes and tips. Table service and takeaway are grouped by check type; the five paths described do not each have a separate channel row. The optional cash book records cash balances and movements — card payments are not cash receipts.

LidoOS Copilot

AI waiter from Nova

Nova takes the order. POS processes it.

The AI conversation and order handoff come from Nova. The POS receives items and table details and offers enabled payment methods. It does not conduct its own AI conversation here.

You set payment methods and kitchen release.

An AI reply does not confirm a payment. Confirmed payment in the POS is what counts.

Nova ↔ POS

Nova supplies data. POS runs service.

Maintain menus, tables and staff in Nova. The POS handles orders, payments and receipts.

  • From Nova: menu, tables, staff, vouchers, tickets, reservations and AI waiter orders.
  • Back to Nova: sales and closings, telemetry and guest receipts through the configured bridge connections.
  • Without Nova: local till workflows using previously transferred data. New online orders and voucher validation or issuance need Nova.

The limits

What the channels need.

Nova handoff and guest payments must be configured and enabled. With “after payment”, the kitchen waits for full confirmation. Guest QR currently has no mandatory waiter approval. The cash book is optional. Complete demo flows through closing will be checked only after phase 2 approval, using simulated payments only.

Short answers

Your POS questions

Do I have to confirm the guest QR order request?

No. The request is currently booked straight onto the table check; an additional waiter approval does not exist yet. The team sees the items at the table.

Can the AI waiter take payment directly?

With the connection enabled, the guest can open the offered guest payment. An AI reply confirms no payment — what counts is the confirmed payment in the POS.

Does every channel get its own line in the day closing?

No. The closing evaluates paid checks by transaction type. The five channels on this page are not five separate closing lines.

The captures show the demo venue Via Palermo: existing checks, an existing Z receipt and table access via QR — without a new order or payment.
